This year I had the opportunity to attend Çanakkale in Turkey for the ANZAC memorial services as part of the Victorian Parliamentary Delegation representing the Australian Turkish Business Council. The opportunity to remember and pray for the Mehmets of my motherland and for the Johnnies of my homeland was a deeply moving experience. Thank you to the hardworking staff at Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the Australian Embassy and our wonderful host city Canakkale for their tireless efforts to make this event possible and making us feel so welcomed.
