Melinda is a passionate legal practitioner who was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in March 2022. She started her career at Melbourne Lawyers and Mediators in 2021 as a Law Clerk and is the first point of contact for all clients.
Having graduated from the University of London with a Diploma in Common Law and Bachelor of Laws in 2016, she moved to Australia in 2017 and graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Laws. She graduated from the Colombo Institute of Research and Psychology with a Diploma in General Psychology in 2012.
Melinda’s Legal Career started back in 2016 when she worked as a Legal Associate at an outsourced legal firm in Sri Lanka. Here she worked with leading companies around the world to assist them with various legal needs. Primarily focusing on Contracts and Business Policies.
Her areas of interest include Family Law, Wills & Estates and Criminal Law. She aims to assist clients during their legal matters to the best of her ability by building trust and providing clients with the extra care they need during these stressful and complex times in their life.
Melinda is an active member of her community and able to speak Sinhalese. She can assist clients that have a language barrier, ensuring they are looked after with care and diligence.
